Hypnotherapy for Weight Management: A Quick Fix or a Mindset Shift?

As someone who does NOT believe in quick fixes, fad diets or crazy workout regimes when it comes to weight management, I find the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy approach reassuring and inspiring.

Although some other approaches may claim to have fast-acting 'miracle' results, the truth is, there is no magic wand when it comes to taking care of our health. It's a mindset shift, not a miracle.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy aids clients in the process by helping to:

  • Reduce Stress: By reducing stress, we reduce the production of cortisol. Excess cortisol has a proven link to excess weight.

  • Sleep Better: Poor sleep is linked to an increase in ghrelin, the hunger hormone, meaning the less we sleep, the more we want to eat. SFH helps get sleep patterns back on track.

  • Focus on Positives: By doing this, we reduce the stress that's filling our buckets, thereby helping us get into a better mindset for weight management.

  • Build Confidence: We are more than a dress size. We already have skills and qualities that will enable us to achieve goals and feel good about who we are. Hypnosis helps us access this confidence.

  • Make Healthy Choices: Through a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis, we are given the tools to shift our mindset towards doing things that will benefit us long-term, not just for short-term gains.

  • Pursue Our Goals: Solution Focused Hypnotherapy enables us to develop goals that are right for ourselves. Not goals that will please other people, or appease society. Through confidence building, reducing stress and sleeping better, you become better placed to set goals that suit YOU.
