Welcome to Full Colour Hypnotherapy! Using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a form of psychotherapy combined with hypnotherapy which focuses on where you want to be in life, you can achieve your goals, regain control and enjoy your life in full colour.

Meet Lisa

My name is Lisa Ainslie and I believe that everyone can benefit from the power of hypnotherapy. I'm currently a student of the Clifton Practice, Edinburgh, and I'm passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and overcome their challenges. With a studio in Galashiels and online sessions available, I'm here to help you wherever you are.

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we focus on your desired future, using solution focused questioning techniques and trance to help you regain control and make positive changes.

"Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful. As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. Crucially, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, therapists look at what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted them to seek help (the problem)." - AfSFH

Hypnosis, or trance, is a normal and natural state of relaxation. We all go into a state of trance many times over the course of a day when we're focused on something. Solution Focused Hypnotherapists use trance to enhance therapeutic work by enabling clients access to their subconscious mind which holds all the solutions to their problems. In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions, hypnosis is not something the therapist "does" to the client. Rather the therapist uses trance to facilitate the client's ability to take control themselves. It is very much a collaboration. The hypnotherapist will not make you do anything you don't want to do. You must wish to make the change for the change to happen.
